The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is an organization that provides training and coordination for citizens to aid their communities during and after a disaster. As outlined on their webpage, Skagit County CERT focuses on providing education and resources to prepare for the types of disasters that may impact our area.

The Importance of CERT Training

In the wake of a disaster, emergency responders may be overwhelmed and unable to reach everyone immediately. By receiving CERT training, you will have the skills necessary to help yourself, your family, and your neighbors. CERT training can equip you with life-saving knowledge and skills such as basic disaster response, fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

How Can You Join?

Joining CERT is a straightforward process. Visit the Skagit County CERT webpage and navigate to their volunteer page to begin the process. There, you'll find an application form and detailed instructions on how to apply. It's that simple!

Once you've applied, you'll embark on a CERT Basic Training course that spans over a few weeks. The course is designed to be as comprehensive and practical as possible, focusing on hands-on skill development and emergency response knowledge. You'll participate in interactive classes led by experienced emergency responders who are passionate about their roles as CERT trainers.

Be the Change You Wish to See

CERT volunteers are invaluable members of our community, especially during times of crisis. By becoming a volunteer, you're stepping forward as a leader in our community, setting an example for your neighbors, and, most importantly, helping to protect and preserve our beautiful Cedar Ridge Estates.

A Call to Action

We hope you consider this opportunity to become a CERT volunteer. It's a chance to make a real difference, learn critical life-saving skills, and ensure the safety of our beloved community. Remember, in the face of disaster, every moment and every hand counts. We look forward to seeing more Cedar Ridge Estates neighbors joining the Skagit County CERT!
