The neighborhood network
Neighbors around the world turn to Nextdoor daily to receive trusted information, give and get help, get things done, and build real-world connections with those nearby — neighbors, businesses, and public services.
Cedar Ridge Estates on Nextdoor
The Cedar Ridge Estates community has it's own private neighborhood where neighbors can easily communicate with each other and target messages to only neighbors within Cedar Ridge Estates. Follow the steps below to learn more about how to communicate with your neighbors.
How to target messages to Nextdoor neighborhoods
To target your messages to one or a group of Nextdoor neighborhoods:
1. Select a post type at the top of your newsfeed.
2. Click on Entire Service Area (X neighbors) at the bottom of the post composer popup.
3. Click the Entire Service Area dropdown at the top left of the map.
4. Choose either Custom Areas or Neighborhoods depending on how you want to target your message
5. When targeting either a custom area or a neighborhood(s) there are two ways of selecting the audience
-
Type the name of the area or neighborhood in the search bar to quickly select or scroll through the alphabetized list of custom areas or neighborhoods to select
-
Clicking directly on the map to select the areas/neighborhoods. Note: you can not click and drag to select multiple areas
6. You can also help figure out where to target your message by using the address functionality
-
Click Search by address, enter an address in the search bar, and select a desired radius.
-
A pin will drop in the neighborhood of the address, and all neighborhoods within the radius will appear in the list
-
Then select the areas you want to target as above
7. Save the audience.

Why can I see posts from other neighborhoods?
By default, your newsfeed is comprised of posts from your neighborhood and nearby neighborhoods. Nearby Neighborhoods let you connect with neighbors who live nearby, even though they might not be in your specific neighborhood.
You can customize your newsfeed to turn off posts from outside your nearby area.
If you'd like to view your specific neighborhood newsfeed that only shows you posts from your neighborhood, you can search for "My Neighborhood" and click on the autocomplete suggestion.
